Under The Health Care and Associated Professions (Indemnity Arrangements) Order 2014, all healthcare professionals are legally required to confirm that they have relevant indemnity insurance.
HCL Healthcare is contacting clients to confirm the arrangements and scope of their cover. However, it is important that if you hold a professional indemnity insurance through another means, e.g. independent provider/trade union, you maintain your membership fees and provide us with a copy of the insurance. Holding this insurance yourself will prevent delays in bookings, where the insurance cover has not been confirmed for your role, as well as give you the peace of mind that you are appropriately insured for professional indemnity.
For workers who are working through an umbrella company – we are seeking confirmation directly from the umbrella company of the insurance cover they provide.
For workers who are registered as a limited company – it is important that you provide us with a copy of the indemnity insurance held by your limited company. Please note, if you hold an insurance, HCL Healthcare will need to confirm with your insurer that the personal insurance held is valid to cover you as a limited company.
