HCL Doctors has been awarded a master vendor contract within the NHS Commercial Procurement Collaborative for the North of England. The collaborative is a procurement hub consisting of 52 trusts including Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and this contract win means that HCL Doctors will procure staff for the Trust’s three sites, which provide services to over 2.5 million people.
The master vendor contract will be supported by HCL Clarity, the managed service technology solution from HCL and runs from May 2014 to 2017 with the option to extend for a further two years. As part of the agreement, HCL will utilise its extensive database to deliver experienced medical locums to the Trust and will also leverage its supply chain of approved partner agencies.
Josh Collins, managing director of HCL Doctors, remarked ‘We are absolutely delighted to have won this contract and look forward to supporting the Trust over many years to come. By working through one recruitment provider using HCL Clarity, the Trust will have clear visibility of compliance, control of cost and the technology itself will enable improved workforce planning. Essentially, our aim is to deliver extensive cost savings to the Trust whilst ensuring delivery of staff and ultimately, quality patient care’
The contract is the fourth master vendor awarded to HCL this year and Mr Collins stated ‘HCL won this contract from a field of 30 agencies following successful master vendor implementations at three NHS trusts. In each instance, we have delivered on our commitments and rapidly responded to our client’s temporary staffing needs, continuing to supply high calibre doctors and building strong partnerships with NHS Trusts’
This effort is clearly being recognised by the wider UK recruitment industry and is illustrated by HCL’s recent win at the Recruiter Awards for Excellence for ‘Best Client Services’.
