Who can move to the UK to work as a nurse?
To work as an internationally trained nurse in the UK, you will need to meet the requirements of the NMC, as well as meeting some important English language requirements. We and the NHS adhere to the UK Government’s mission to protect and promote health and social care system sustainability through international cooperation, ensuring safeguards and support for countries with the most pressing health workforce challenges. This means that there are some countries we cannot recruit from – these countries are determined by the WHO, who determine that no active recruitment is permitted from these countries.
