HCL Workforce Solutions is looking to recruit a locum Family Support Worker to work for our master vend client, a children’s trust in the Birmingham area of the West Midlands.

About the role:

Family Support Worker for the Birmingham Children Trust.

Teams: Family Support, Fostering, Contact and Escort, Safeguarding, as well as residential children support.

Full Time role, 3 months – 1 year.

To effectively carry a caseload, recognise and respond appropriately to unexpected situations, Undertake need assessments, planning and delivering appropriate interventions, undertake administration tasks related to the role, liaise with relevant external agencies and maintain accurate records.

What you will need for this role:

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent work experience

Experience of working with local authority children and families/adults services

Comprehensive verbal and written communication and presentation skills

In depth understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion

IT literate including experience of using a management information system

Experience of case recording with excellent attention to detail

Working knowledge of relevant legislation

Personal Specification:

Able to prioritise and manage a complex caseload

Able to empathise with the user/carer, viewing the situation from their perspective

Able to represent and promote the service positively

Able to take a flexible and creative approach to problem solving

Be able to work autonomously and as part of a wider team
