Job description

HCL are currently recruiting a Band 7 Nurse Practitioner based in Norwich

Job Purpose:

To work as an autonomous practitioner, providing completed episodes of care to individuals. Working within agreed guidelines and protocols where they exist and having autonomous decision-making capacity in the absence of guidelines. Prescribe within knowledge and skills and in accordance with National and Local Guidelines Work within scope of practice and drawing on relevant experience to deliver quality patient care.

Work in Partnership with other health and social care providers.

Provide service users with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the service

QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIAL TRAINING

  • Registered General Nurse 1st level
  • Post registration/graduate diploma or equivalent in a specific field
  • ALS or willingness to undertake
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Nurse prescriber
  • Extended/supplementary nurse prescriber

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 4 years post registration experience in community, A & E or minor injury or walk in centre
  • Proven track record in relation to research based practice
  • Experience of managing within a health care setting
  • Evidence of professional development
  • Experience with audit
  • Experience of staff management

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

  • Organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Broad range of excellent clinical skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Ability to organise the workload, able to delegate and prioritise
  • Good knowledge of health, safety, and risk management
  • Computer literate
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of current nursing workforce issues
  • Clear understanding of current health service objectives
