Job Details: Breast Care Nurse Specialist

Grade: G or H grade (depending on experience)

Hours: 37.5 (flexible)

Location: London

Salary: £41,246 – £50,425 (inclusive).

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience

  • 5 years relevant post registration experience
  • 3 years in Oncology
  • Surgical experience
  • Significant clinical experience in breast care
  • Experience in symptom management
  • Counseling experience
  • Must demonstrate leadership in the field of breast care
  • Evidence of teaching and presentation

Knowledge

  • All areas of acute nursing and specifically cancer/breast care nursing
  • To provide evidence of continuing post registration education and professional development
  • To have up to date knowledge of current government initiatives/legislation with regards to breast care
  • Good understanding of psychosocial issues in relation to breast cancer
  • Wider issues of health and social care

Skills

  • Ability to motivate and lead

  • Be experienced in report writing

  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate self and others

Qualifications

  • Teaching + Assessing/mentorship module
  • Post Registration Certificate in cancer/breast related speciality
  • Education to degree/diploma level
