Community Psychiatric Nurse



Salary: From £25 to £26 per hour

Job description

HCL Mental Health are seeking a skilled and experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) (or equivalent, such as a Band 5 or a Social Worker with community experience) to cover a 3 month placement in Essex, starting As Soon As Possible.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9-5. The post holder will be responsible for covering Depot Clinics and Home visits within the community.

Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year’s community experience and be a car driver with own vehicle available to use. Mileage will be paid at 56p per mile, from base at Grays Hall to locations within the community and back to base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold professional code of conduct
  • Deliver care in accordance with Trust’s care programme approach guidelines
  • Undertake risk assessments and plan effectively to manage as part of MDT care planning and shared risk management
  • Ensure all interventions are undertaken within established time scales and according to standards of best evidence based practice and operational policy
  • Work flexibly as a member of the Recovery and Well Being Team
  • Provide clinical supervision and professional leadership to junior staff and promote research based practice
  • Attend training as provided and be responsible for keeping oneself up-to-date with mandatory training
  • Keep oneself updated in all legislative government initiatives, particularly those relevant to the Recovery and Risk Management principles.
