Looking to start an exciting and fulfilling career?

Have you always been considered a chatty one, someone who can make friends and talk to just about anyone? Have you always had a bit of a competitive side, keen to be seen as a winner but raring to bring up others around you at the same time? Are you looking for a career, something dynamic and fast paced where you can make your mark, and potentially make some big money as well?

If this sounds appealing to you, you could love a career in recruitment, and now you’re able to launch this experience via an apprenticeship route! Read on to find out all about our health and social care recruitment apprenticeships with HCRG (Health Care Resourcing Group)

Let’s start with the basics – what is an apprenticeship, and how does it work in the recruitment industry?

An apprenticeship is a job where you as an employee learn and gain valuable experiences, all while earning a salary.

Alongside on-the-job training, apprentices will spend at least 20% of their working hours completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

This isn’t one of those dreadful unpaid gigs we’ve all heard about where you just get stuck making the coffees (although you will be expected to do your part in the kettle runs!) – this is a proper start to your career which will include:

  • paid employment with holiday leave
  • hands-on-experience in a busy recruitment team
  • at least 20% off-the-job training
  • formal assessment which leads to a nationally recognised qualification

Why choose HCRG? What can I expect from my recruitment apprenticeship at HCRG?

Joining HCRG means becoming one of the UK’s leading providers of staffing services to the healthcare industry, with a range of brands supplying public and private organisations across the UK. Working as part of a family of brands means you’ll be working within a strong, supportive network, learning from a variety of recruitment professionals all sharing best practice and working towards a common goal. Whilst our bands are part of a larger family, the diversity between the bands means a range of opportunity, you could be recruiting physiotherapists for a private hospital in London, doctors for an NHS hospital in the midlands, diving medicine specialists to work with the Navy or nurses in the Phillipines looking to move their career to the UK – so many possibilities!

Your first 2 weeks will consist of a thorough induction into the business and your brand. You will learn about the market you have chosen to recruit in, and shadow Senior Consultants in the business.

You will have a review every week for the first 4 weeks, where you have the opportunity to review the week just gone and set new objectives for the next one. We have a formal review process at 4, 8 and 12 weeks to ensure you are progressing ahead of the curve and to ensure we have designed the right programme of training and support to help you get there.

We will set you criteria when you start so you know what you need to do, and continue to monitor and adjust these as you achieve your targets more quickly and show how much you are growing and succeeding!

Will a recruitment apprenticeship get me a permanent job? What jobs can you do after a recruitment apprenticeship?

Of course we want you to be successful in your apprenticeship, and our hope is that you will grow professionally and personally during your time here, and hopefully stay on with us for the next stage in your career!

Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you’ll be ready to embark on the HCRG Career Ladder – this is a pathway open to everyone in our recruitment teams, and helps you to plan the next stage in your career.

We’ve created career ladders to suit everyone from Trainee, right through to Managing Director or Executive Consultant. We’ve thought carefully about the training required and the best way to support you throughout your journey at HCRG – we’ll give you all the tools you’ll need to succeed, and from there you can choose whether to guide your progression down a management route or non management route.
